Telltale Games’ Poker Night at the Inventory was a success and that’s almost undoubtedly down to you taking the fifth seat at a poker table besides featuring four popular characters from four popular series (Team Fortress, Penny Arcade, Sam & Max, Homestar Runner) so with that it comes as no shock that Telltale Games are working on a sequel.
Titled simply Poker Night 2, the title is planned for release in late April on Steam, XBLA and PSN and other soon-to-be announced platforms — potentially the PS4 and next-Xbox.
With likely very little gameplay changes, the game will have to rely again upon its character roster, as well as some rewards that can be used within other games such as Borderlands 2 and Team Fortress 2. So, most importantly is the character roster and, under the watchful eye of GLaDOS from Portal, the other four poker players in the game will be Claptrap from Borderlands, Brock Samson from The Venture Bros, Sam from Sam & Max and Ash Williams from Army of Darkness.
Like before, it’s an interesting mix, but if cameos are all this game can bring to the table (pardon the pun) over its previous installment then you’ll definitely have to either be a fan of the franchises or of poker.
