Deep Silver have announced that Saints Row 4 is set for an August 20th release in the US (August 23rd in Europe) for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Having acquired the Volition-developed series from closed publisher THQ back in Janurary, if we’re to believe the announcement trailer then this will be the climatic end of the series; unsure why Deep Silver would want to kill off a successful franchise, but there we go.
Originally starting development as an expansion for Saints Row the Third, the now fully-fledged sequel took aspects from its planned downloadable content and expanded on it, with the trailer featuring superpower upgrades and some pretty mental stuff. But then you expected that of Saints Row, right? Right.
A director’s cut of the aforementioned DLC, titled ‘Enter the Dominatrix’, will be released as DLC for Saints Row IV at a later date. Check the announcement trailer below, yo.
