Sony Europe CEO recently told the PlayStation Blog about the future of PlayStation Plus… sort-of. Stating that they’re ‘not yet in a position to disclose’ their plans for PlayStation Plus’ future, he later added that ‘there will definitely be a prominent role to play for it in the PlayStation 4 landscape.’
This really doesn’t come as a huge shock, considering that a subscription service similar to Xbox Live has seemingly been up consideration and that all of PS4′s games are also to be made available digitally. Sony really are trying to push the digital revolution forward a little bit more this generation, so it would be expected if we are indeed to see a more intense PlayStation Plus, almost Xbox Live-like service for PlayStation 4. Whether it will just be a better, more enticing Plus service or a mandatory monthly payment for online features — who knows?
