PS4 Games to Cost From $0.99 – $60

PlayStation 4 games
In a recent interview with CNBC, SCEA CEO Jack Tretton stated that the pricing of PlayStation 4 games will range anywhere from $0.99 to the traditional pricing of $60, with gamers given the ability to try the game before they buy it.

Claiming that games on mobile devices are ‘addictive experiences’, this could be a sign that as well as the standard sort of AAA retail titles and downloadable titles we already see on the Store these days, Sony will push to have more minis or small, accessible, iOS-like cheap games available. It also means that with $60 being the highest cost for a PlayStation 4 game, games won’t reach costs of $70 like they have done in the past with PlayStation 3 titles.

Seeing as many game companies consider mobile gaming a genuine threat nowadays, this news doesn’t sound all that surprising really — if consoles are to remain a viable venture for companies, they’re going to have to compete with mobile gaming as well as rival consoles.
