After Journey failed to win the Grammy for Best Soundtrack for Visual Art recently, the game has another opportunity to win an award — in fact, it has an opportunity to win up to eight, placing it in first place as the game with the most BAFTA nominations this year.

Although it’s unlikely to win them all, it’d be a shock if it didn’t win at least one of the award categories it’s nominated for — those being Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, Game Innovation, Online-Multiplayer, Best Game, Game Design, Story and Original Music.

Just behind Journey with seven nominations is The Walking Dead, with indie hit Dear Esther nominated for five and a total of 53 games nominated over 17 different categories. Intriguing to me was that Call of Duty: Black Ops II is nominated for ‘game innovation’ and that virtually no Nintendo games hold any nominations at all.

The British Academy Games Awards are set to take place on March 5th, with videogame-fan comedian Dara O’Briain hosted the ceremony. See the full (rather long) list of nominations below:
