Wii U Software Only Account for 1.6% of Sales in UK

It’s no secret that the Wii U’s been having quite a bit of trouble recently, but the extent of that trouble hadn’t been quite so clear until now.

Only 34,000 Wii U games were sold in the UK in January, making up only 1.6% of software sales. In comparison, the Xbox 360 sold 810,000 (38.4%) and the PlayStation 3 sold 545,000 (52.8%).

The real devastating blow is that this stat includes Nintendo Land, which is bundled with the console for free. If Wii U wants to survive — especially with Microsoft and Sony possibly joining the next-gen competition soon — Nintendo are really going to have to up their game, gain some extra third-support and pump out some great first-party titles.
